Roadmap to the Next Decade

Updated: Apr 11, 2020

Not only are we approaching a new year, we are approaching an entire new decade! Now, I am a big fan of doing an annual reflection followed by writing down my hopes, plans and dreams for the coming year, so the idea of being able to do this for a new decade is just too sweet to pass up and I'd like to share the fun with you.

As a background, I have been doing this sort of thing for 10 years or more. In fact often times my roomates and I would spend our New Year's Eve on the floor of our apartment writing out our goals, cutting out images and envisioning our futures. I have been fortunate enough to have had a lot of great experiences in my life but I would not have been able to do all them without much dreaming, planning, reflection and reassessment. I do believe that great things can come on a whim but I am also a big believer in the saying, "failing to plan is planning to fail", as harsh as it may sound there can be much truth to it.

So here's the deal, I have gathered many tools and methods over the years from some of my favorite authors and educators on efficient and effective ways to create a roadmap for your life, but it takes you actually following through with the templates I am going to provide you with in order to see results and get the biggest bang for your buck. You can read all you want but until you empower yourself and take action, it will simply become another thing on your to-do list not yet done, and no one needs more unchecked things on their to-do lists. So carve out an hour or two before the New Year or early on in the New Year to sit down and go through this. I mean it, right now, go to your calendar or planner and block out that time for yourself. This will be well worth it in the long run.

(print to "fit" and landscape or use it as a guide and write in your own journal/planner. I suggest printing only the pages you need to save on ink.)
